Wolfgang Eichwede

Wolfgang Eichwede studied history, political science philosophy and Slavic studies in Tübingen, Heidelberg and Berlin and received his Ph.D. in East European history in Tübingen. He is the director of the Research Centre for East European Studies at the University of Bremen which he extended into an Institute for Culture and Society of Central- and Eastern Europe, an institution dedicated to the history of the Samizdat culture and dissident movements. He is currently writing a comparative socio-historical study titled „Russia and Germany: Ways out of dictatorship“.
