Svetlana V. Savranskaya Svetlana V. Savranskaya received a PhD in Political Science at the Emory University in Atlanta in 1998. She published “New Sources on the Role of Soviet Submarines in the Cuban Missile Crisis” and "Theoretical Approaches to the Concept of National Interest" in 1990. Since 2000 she works as a Director of Russia Programs at the National Security Archive, Washington, D.C. In 2001 she became an Adjunct Professor at the American University in Washington, D.C.
