Klaus Hildebrand

Klaus Hildebrand was born in Bielefeld (Germany). Since 1982 Hildebrand he is at the University of Bonn as a professor in medieval and modern history with a special focus on the 19th and 20th centuries. Hildebrand’s major work has been in diplomatic history and the development of the nation state. Some of his major publications are: “Von Erhard zur Großen Koalition 1963-1969” (Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, 1984); “Das Vergangene Reich. Deutsche Außenpolitik von Bismarck bis Hitler 1871-1945” (1996); “No Intervention. Die Pax Britannica und Preußen 1865/66-1869/70. Eine Untersuchung der englischen Weltpolitik im 19. Jahrhundert”(1997).
